aye thought it was poor only 6/7 players in attendance but to be fair some probably on holiday - mind you those who were there left at 11
still think if they had lowered the price and had it as a stovie dance there would have been far more people there
noticed there wasnt anyone from the Social Club there as well

i thought the lack of huntly players attending was poor and the ones that did left early was a poor show on their behalf however i throughly enjoyed the evening, food was good and i thought the band, although one was wearing a horrible football top were top notch but each to their own and we're all entitled to our own opinion.

Dinner Dance

Well well here we are again.

I agree that there perhaps was a lack of players there but considering many stay in Aberdeen i think that would be why they left at 11!

I thought it was very well organised and the food was great! I didn't mind that it was a set menu.

The band weren't the best but most of the time the floor was full of people dancing and having a good time.

Well Done to the Organisers. I know for a fact that a lot of hard work was put in and people should appreciate that even if they didn't enjoy themselves!

As for the raffles, irish bingo etc, you didn't have to buy if you didn't want to and at the end of the day if you won a bottle of champers or £100 you wouldn't be complaining.

Anyway everyone has their own opinion and i accept that and i guess it may not have been everyones cup of tea.

Dinner Dance

June 20 2007, 2:59 PM

It is very disappointing once again to see all these negative posts.
Sometimes it would just be nice for folk to say thank you to the board/committee/anyone who helped in the organisation of this sort of events for their efforts.
I attended the dance with 11 others - 1 of whom was a vegetarian - I have only had very good feedback from every one of them.

I will take full responsibility for the band - I booked Cruise for the event. At the end of the day, we decided to put on the dance about 2 months prior to the event and to get a band for Sat the 16th June in normal circumstances wouldn't be easy. However in saying that, my first personal choice of band were Cruise, who luckily were available - they play a good mixture of music & always get the crowd going - which is exactly what they did on Sat!

The Golf Club provided a set menu for the meal - I thought the meal was 1st class - as good food as youd get anywhere for a meal out. As previously stated, I had a Veggie at my table & she always comes to accept at this type of event, it may not be ideal for her, however other than the Roast beef (they dont eat meat anyway so are quite happy with vegetables!) she was delighted with the meal and had ample to eat!

There are always raffles etc at any dance, and as Leanne said you dont have to buy these - its just a bit of fun for those who want to participate.
It was great to see some players and management attend - surely you should realise - we dont expect players to be unavailable all season - this is their month or so off & I would have though that we have to accept that some may have been away?!

All in all I though it a great night, drinks very reasonably price and food and entertainment very good.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I feel that some people just like a good moan!

I really dont mean to offend anyone with this & Im sorry for my wee rant but it just depresses me to come on here to find these type of comments after the time and effort that goes into the organisation of such events.

Re: Dinner Dance

Personally, my wife and I fair enjoyed ourselves at the Dinner and Dance! Food was excellent, Band were good (even though they were Vale fans! Ha, Ha!).

We were at Sandy Morris's table, and I haven't laughed so much for a long time! We had a really good time.

At the end of the day, each to his own, but we really enjoyed it and had a great time and therefore I'd like to say a big thank you to the organisers! Well done!

We are supporting the club after all, by going to it, and this I feel is the main thing!

some of the moaning folk should think themselves lucky the club had a meal with the fans instead of having there own "doo".
i, personally, wasn't there but as michelle said, there seems to b more negative posts with whatever goes on at the club or anything to do with the club

If the ***** were less narrow minded and actually organized things in advanced then the night wouldve been a roaring success.
