Kit clash?

September 3 2007, 5:25 PM

Why do we have to wear all blue for every away game? It's not like there's a colour clash. Fair enough change if there is a clash. the black and gold stripes are the clubs identity.

I brought this subject up at our committe meeting tonight and was told that we will playing in the blue strip for ALL away matches except against Cove.
This is to save the black & gold strip from wear and tear and it is also what the fans had voted for recently.
Although I forgot to ask what would happen if we reached the Challenge Cup Final or get through the next round of the Scottish Cup and are drawn away.

eh I certainly didnt vote on the understanding I was voting for a strip to be worn at all away games

we play in black & gold unless there is a clash of colours simple as that

do the reserves have a change of strip for their away games ?

must be a gie poor/cheap strip if it will only last 15 league games and a couple of cup games

Got to agree, although referred to as the "away strip" it has always just been used where there's a clash. Get us back in Black and Gold where we belong.

Kathleen - sorry to disagree, but this is NOT what we voted for!!

We voted for the Navy version of that, not the Cove coloured one!

And I agree, we've never had this "lets wear the away kit for all away games" thing before, dont like that attitude even if it does save the home kit a wee bit**.

Whether the strip is what was voted for or not, the vote was not on how often we play in it.

I thought the correct term was 'change' strip as it was to be used in the event of a colour clash. 'Away' kit being a term adopted by fans. Have to admit I prefer this terming as I would rather see a team play in their associated colours regardless of who they are unless there is a colour clash.

Don't want to critise the Board/Committee cos they probably get too much critism as it is but there seems to be a re-curring theme of what is in my opinion an absurd notion that we can't maintain the strips. Never heard any other team have the same complaint, not even amateur teams who have to use the same 14 strips home and away for 3 seasons or more!!

Cup Final Colours?

September 9 2007, 6:56 PM

I hope we're not using the blue kit for the cup final. There's no way our 1st kit clashes with Vale's red and white.

Re: Football Strips

Somebody's c*cked up here as we can get Prostar kits supplied, printed, etc, and here within a week.

You want LOCAL people to get involved with the club but did you bother to use a LOCAL supplier?

Oh, and as long as you don't boil wash it weekly a kit should last for two seasons, even if it is Prostar.

Have fun, as I can see you'll struggle to supply once initial batch runs out.

So Huntly will only play half their games in the traditional black and gold? - what an outrage, never heard of anyone else doing that. And as yet the fans who want to hand over money to the club, can't buy either strip yet? What's going on?

If this is the same company that have let us down time after time, I hope we NEVER use them again.
They have had so many chances to get it right and cant.
I cant understand why we go back for more shoddy service time after time!!
