Thanks to Deveron Homes and our friendly but anonymous businessman sponsorship, the Kevin Keegan Scholarship programme will move into the second phase on January 9th when the selection process for our second set of winners amongst the Under 13s and Under 14s will start. As the first programme was such a success, we are retaining the same form, there will be five scholarship winners from each of the teams and each winner will be accompanied by preferably a parent, but in any case, by an approved adult. The date for the scholarships will be either March 15th or April 5th.
The date for the above scholarship day has been provisionally set for 15th March when, after a morning of coaching by Kevin Keegan at Soccer Circus, the award winners will be guests of Hibernian Football Club for the game against Kilmarnock.
It's "Brilliant" to hear that you have managed to secure this for the under 13s & 14s Robin.
I'm sure the young Players will be "up" for this once again.
Well done in securing this with Kevin Keegan and Hibernian FC for the Huntly Youth.
We must be the "envy" of many other Clubs!
Hope you have all read the piece in this week's Huntly Express about the next phase in the Scholarships we run for our youth teams, involving Kevin Keegan and Hibernian Football Club. The first ones proved to be an outstanding success, this is something that has been developed by Huntly Football Club and is exclusive to us, so we can all be proud of it.
Should any of you happen to bump into any Dundee supporters, be sure to tell them what a great club we are, and mention the KK scholarships.
perhaps we could arrange a pre season freindly with the magpies now with our connections between the two clubs.go on Robin no harm in asking him is there.
Stoke City got knocked out the FA Cup, my family down south are Stoke City fans so I got born into supporting Huntly and Stoke due to both sides of the family
Kevin's move back into mainstream football offers a tremendous opportunity for us. Through Sir Tom Farmer and Rod Petrie we have very strong links that can be developed with the superb youth training facilities at Hibs. Through Kevin, we have very strong links now with a top class Premeir League club that is on the main railway line from Aberdeen, thus opening up all sorts of opportunities. I shall be talking with Kevin about these.
Interesting to hear John Motson mention on Football Focus yesterday that he had heard that one of the reasons Keegan went back into management was because he felt he'd gone as far as he could with the Soccer Circus.
