Riverside BC 3-4 Huntly YFC
A well deserved win today against a decent side. We started off quite well and caused Riverside a few problems but they took the lead against the run of play when Jordon let a long range shot through his hands which isna like him.1-0. We went through a 10-15 mins where some of our heads went downand Riverside got on top of us, but we got over it and started to play again, Angus played a great through ba for Darren whose 1st touch took him across the defender and fired home.1-1. We took the lead just before half time when Jamie of all people scored with a glancing header into the bottom corner.1-2 half time.
2nd half Riverside leveled early on but the loons rolled up their sleeves and took the game by the scruff of the neck and played some great stuff. Gary played a fantastic ba ower the top for Angus who ran through and scored.2-3. Andrew hit the bar after he was played in by Darren. Darren then played in Jamie with another good pass and made it 2-4. Riverside pulled a goal back with nae long left but we were in control and saw the game out. 3-4 full time.
Apart from the 10-15 mins in the 1st half the loons all played with great confidence and the longer the game went on it oozed through the team. It was difficult to pick out a man of the match today cos there was impressive displays all over the park. Aiden(c) was brilliant at the back, so he probably just edged it but i would also like to say that today was about a fantastic effort as a team so everybody deserves credit for the win.
