Highland League under 19`s results

After a long lay off our under 19`s got two games in a week.
7th Feb. at Christie park 8pm kick off.
HUNTLY 2 FRASERBURGH 4

We started this one with a number of new faces and the majority of them 16 yearolds.
We lost a goal early on and it took the wind from our sails. We eventually started to get our foot on the ball and we gave this older Broch side as good as we got. We scored a cracking goal when good play in midfield brought our wide right into play and Garrett`s cross was met by Coyle`s bullet header. The keeper had no chance.
The second half produced our three subs early on and to be honest they found it very dificult to get up to the pace of the game. This stronger Broch outfit took control although we still played some clever one/two touch football. They scored a couple of early goals in the second half and we found ourselves chasing the game. We pulled one back and looked for another only to be caught on the break late on. Both teams hit the woodwork and the effort was there for all to see.

12th Feb. at Rainbow taxis park Cove 8 pm kick off.
COVE 2 HUNTLY 3

A great night for football at Cove not a breath of wind and overhead conditions perfect.
Again we didn`t get off to the best of starts concedeing a goal in 30 seconds.
Again we rallied and Cove had no answer to our football tonight. We got our deserved equaliser when Steve Mann(came up from PERTH for a try out) ran on to a Christie through ball drew the keeper, waltzed past him dummied the onrushing centre half and rolled it into the empty net.CLASS.
From then on we got better and better. Athol Cadger put us in front after Kidd wide on the left had created an opening.
The second half was more of the same and the three subs soon got the measure of things in this game.
Cadger again finished off a good move with crisp shot and Cove were chasing shaddows. Cove did get a goal late on but this scoreline flatters them BIG TIME.
NOT A WEAKNESS.
