A disapointing results for the lads today, going down 3-2 at Stonehaven in a hard fought match.
Stonehaven took the game to Huntly in th opening minutes and the visitors hardly touched the ball. Home pressure finally paid off in the 7th minute when the Huntly defence failed to clear their lines with some poor clearance attempts and the unfortunate Grant Bryceland sliced the ball into his own net.
However Huntly dug in and gradually started to get their game together. Scott Law narrowly shot wide and the same player shot over after making space for himself.
Huntly's persistence finally paid off in the 32nd minute when Greg DORRAT ran on to a through ball from Hendry and poked the ball past the home 'keeper.
Huntly continued to play some good passing football without troubling the home keeper.
The second half started off in the same fashion as the start of the first half with Stonehaven having most of the play amd Danny Ross having to make a couple of good saves to keep his team in the game.
In the 63rd minute Stonehaven regained the lead with a lobbbed shot beating keeper Ross.
The home side went further ahead in the 70th minute with a low near post header.
Huntly were not lying down and following a scramble in the home box, BRYCELAND made a good connection with a loose ball and pulled the score back to 3-2.
However, despite Stonehaven being reduced to 10 men following a red card for one of their players, Huntly couldnt take advantage and 3-2 became the final score.
