U14S

February 24 2008, 8:18 PM

Huntly 14s continued on there winning ways with a resounding 6-0 away win at Longside today.Fair to say we never got oot o 1st gear aided by a swirling wind it was a poor performance.Gary Morrison set us up with 2 goals in first 7 mins the 1st a cracker of Nakamura style free kick, the game then went downhill with Huntly dominating but unable too add to the score.A half time roasting team talk resulted in 2 quick goals with Gary netting his hat trick & Ewan Gordon scoring to put Huntly on easy street.2 Liam Fergie goals finished scoring 6-0 could easily have been double figures with better finishing from all.The team has now got itself into a good challenging posistion in league but will have to play a lot better to maintain high standard they have set.No game next week as Gary away on select duty at Stenhousemuir, all the best, for the rest of squad a gruesome training night awaits on wed.ONWARD

"no game next week as Gary is away"

surely one player doesnt make a team!!??

If thats the reason for no game, I feel sorry for your squad members who could have come in, football's a squad game.

Can the first team have a free week next time Mo's unavailable please

AH, I thought you knew all the rules and regulations. A team automatically get a free date if a player is away on select duty.

"surely one player doesnt make a team!!??"

"football's a squad game."

Well your right a.h. one player doesn't make a team, and football is a squad game, but if you had looked at Alan's original post you would have noticed that on Sunday we only had a squad of 12 including Gary's younger brother as are sub, so take those two away that leaves us ten, hence why we are utilising the free week!!

So how about you stop commenting on things that have nothing to do with you and concentrate on your own team!!

All the best to Gary on Sunday with the select!

Fraser

I've got to agree with my fellow Under 14's coach, Fraser, here, we would be really struggling for numbers if we didn't have Gary or Greg on Sunday, Fact!! We only have 13 signed players to begin with, so what happens if somebody calls off unexpectedly?

Get a grip A H, we can't all have squads of up to 18 players you know!! We have to work with what we have, and so far the squad we do have are nae doing too bad at all, just look at the latest league table, we are now second in the league, with games in hand and have got to be one of the realistic winners of our league this season, which would be quite an achievement given the fact we have such a small squad!!

Likewise, Gary, all the best for the select game on Sunday!!

Alan G.

How come youve only got 13 players? didnt realise that, not good for competition for places etc.

Have you considered asking ann or carol for an add for players on the league website like what we did for a keeper a few weeks back? that or email the evening express whod put an ad in for you.
13 of a squad is not healthy for anyone.

Loan of Strip

February 28 2008, 8:54 PM

I would just like to thank AH for his help in lending the 13s a strip when they had a clash of colours with East End Delta last Sunday. (Mike has mentioned it in his match report also)
