Two matters:
One, let's go shopping for arts & crafts stuff in time for St. Rose kids to make some festive holiday stuff. We can take a hundred bucks or so from our treasury to do this. It's not much, but will mean a lot. Can we get a voice vote here to authorize Susan to disburse the funds and/or do a bit of shopping?
Two, I have done some shopping around and have found a pretty decent acoustic guitar at Loria's Music over in Rahway. It's a Hohner, student-size, and comes with a good-quality fabric case, and I can get it for $99, which I have already set aside. A thought then occured to me that it would be better to have two guitars, for teacher-student instruction or just for two students to play together (which is how Lennon and McCartney started!). At any rate, I'm asking a fellow alumni music lover to match my modest gesture and spring for the second instrument, the better to inaugurate the St. Rose Music Program. Two alumni giving $50 will also do the trick. I will spring for extra strings, chord books and miscellaneous. These are new guitars, sturdy, with good sound quality. Who can help with this? |
