Debbie,

Do you mean it was great finally getting home after a long eventful weekend?

In a sentence...

Actually, Rosario, I hadn't thought of it that way. What I really meant was that I felt like Dorothy in Oz. Only when I clicked my ruby slippers I did get home. Home to Newark, to SRS and home to all my dear friends. It was exhilarating, exciting and inspiring. I am so glad I was there! And, I'll never forget it!

Wonderful Weekend

October 22 2002, 4:16 AM

My heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped put this weekend together; it was an outstanding experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed both events, despite my earlier misgivings about the St Rose location.
What really made it so enjoyable was the terrific turnout of people. To see so many old friends after all these years was just great. Let's keep the ball rolling ; there's a luncheon scheduled for Dec.14th at Cryan's in So. Orange. Spread the word!

In a sentence/ CAN YOU EVER GO HOME AGAIN

October 22 2002, 6:44 AM

Well my friends guess our hearts all answered the question we never really knew the answer to all these years....CAN YOU EVER GO HOME AGAIN? Some made the luncheon and mass on Friday, some only attended the reunion on Saturday at the Elks club. I was lucky to experience both wonderful events and everything in between.......My hats off to a Jim (the chef) and Susan for Friday, Carol and Liz for Saturday. They didn't leave much room for improvement for future reunions.
Job well done!

Linda

p.s. One sad note, I lost all the pictures in my camera. The one you have posted now on the church steps is great, I had this one too!

And Linda, it was great seeing you. I will boycott our next gathering if you are not there!

Linda,
It was interesting that you posted this question because about a month ago I was telling a very good friend about John's website, the reunions, etc. and I was really surprised that he sort of had a negative attitude toward the whole concept. I think he may fear that it will never be as good as you imagined it would be.. or something along those lines. I don't remember hearing the quote before, but he cited it: "you can never go home again"...

I'd say we proved him wrong!

....in a sentence....

October 24 2002, 2:46 PM

There seems to be a yearning among old friends and classmates to return home to an old neighboorhood that has since basically disappeared; consider this old phrase, "Home is where the heart is."

It looks and sounds like you've all come home last week.
