we had so many frank hoffman left handed pitcher. none better than mike steffinelli who cought frank,

tom piller fastest 1/4 miler at seton hall since the famous andy standfield

john joyce class of 53 state champ in 1/4 mile at state meet about 1956.

paul cunningham class of about 1949 state golden gloves champ. fron 7th st and 7th ave.

none better than ed cunningham played for st james in newark you did not want to get in ed's way when he went for the basket.

the day brothers were not to be overlooked roger was tough off the boards
his older brother was also but i could not get into those games as srl playground

This list would not be complete without BOBBY JONES, one of the best trackmen to ever come out of Essex Catholic, and then Manhattan College, and JOHN McCREE, one of the best weightmen also from Essex Catholic. Both are Essex Catholic Hall of Famers.

Forget the discus accomplishments, John was most popular for being a fullback on "worman's warriors"
Every senior watching the game was calling for the same play, "over Br. Levy on 1". It didn't hurt having
Rudy Guevara. and George H. following behind John. I miss those friendly games of pickup!
