Frank Molinaro took me under his wing in the Fall of '64 as a shy 18 year old began work at the old Newark Post Office. Son Bobby gave up his time to come to Carteret School in 1982 to talk to my Bloomfield students. Remember Bobby Molinaro Night in 1980? Over 600 Rosevillites came by bus, car, and train to see bobbie go 4-5, just missing a game winning grand-slammer. Chicago White ?Sox #5 for Joe D.
Bobby Molinaro was the best little league hitter I ever saw. Chris Carlin was the best catcher. tony Hammed was the best athlete. Benny Abruzzo was the fierest competitor. But the most caring coach I ever saw was Robert Crowley. There was a man's man. He influenced a lot of us young fatherless guys.
Where is he buried. One day I'd like to lay a bouquet
and say an ave there for him.
Ever see "A Wonderful Life"? This modest working class
man unknowingly set a lot of things in motion by his presence.
As my sister wrote I will be one of 35 educational leaders attending the Oxford Roundtable March 16-21.
Mr. Crowley started me working with kids as his assistant with St. Rose CYO in 1966. He got me started down "the road less travelled">
