Great Idea writing to Kevin.

Does anybody remember when St. Rose had us writing to soldiers in Viet Nam? I think it was in '67 or '68. We were asked to buy an Easter card and add a personal note.

Most of us got replies. I wish I remembered more about my soldier. He was in Chu Lai and said that they received the cards at mass. He was the last one to pick a card and there were still a bunch left so he took them all and wrote to a lot of us. We would read our return letters to the class.

I've often thought about what may have happened to him... Does anybody remember this project? I'd appreciate anything you might remember.

Yes Bob, I remember getting a letter back from my guy. He said it was 120 degrees on the beach when he arrived in Nam.

I think it was good to have us write, in contrast with all the nonsense that was going on at the time.
