While doing online research for my family history I came across the Oldnewark web site and it led me here. I lived on 7th Avenue, between 6th and 7th Streets, in the 1950s. My parents bought a house on North 7th Street around 1960. After Route 280 took the house my parents moved to Vailsburg and later to Bayville just below Toms River (I think half of Newark moved to the Toms River area).
It's nice to see there are others out there who still remember the old neighborhood.
