Here's an old view of the Roseville Armory. Beyond it the Roseville Methodist Church is clearly visible; St. Rose hadn't been built yet.

IN LOOKING AT THIS OLD PHOTO OF THE METH. CHURCH ETC ON ORANGE ST., I NOTICED SOMETHING VERY STRANGE STICK-
ING UP IN THE AIR TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CHURCH...YOU DID NOT MENTION IT IN YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTO.....
THIS WAS A VERY LARGE TANK FILLED WITH GAS...CAN YOU IMAGINE? THE TANK
WAS LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF SO. 15TH ST. AND NINTH AVE.....IT WAS
HUGE...I WAS TOO YOUNG TO BE AFRAID OF THIS TANK..I WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO IT.
Public Service had a number of those tanks around their service area. What they stored for use was a manufactured gas that was ultimately replaced by natural gas that came in by pipeline. After that the storage tanks were no longer needed and they were dismantled. I don't remember the exact year(s), but I believe it was during the 1950's.
When I was 18 years old , 1956 I was a member of the 50th amored div.JERSEY Blue, I was a pfc in the 50th arm,div med bn. Does any remember what armory
that was in. I think it was the above but not certin
