The original plaque disappeared back in the 1970s. The original Camp Frelinghuysen extended from Orange Street to Bloomfield Avenue, and from the Morris canal to Roseville Avenue.

Where is this rock? I vaguely remember the old plaque--I guess it was vandalized (you can still see the old bolts in the rock) Is the picture looking West up the sleigh-riding hill? Would the Prudential Lions be behind the photographer?

The answer is yes! The Prudential lions and the lake are to the rear, and if you walk down to the lions (where I used to catch some exceptionally pallid sunfish back in the 1950s) you will see the cathedral across the water.
