All SRLAA Alumni and their friends are invited to get together at a Newark Bears Game on Thursday Night Aug. 5th. The game starts at 7 P.M. so we will meet by the main gate at about 6:30 P.M.. There is no reason to buy tickets ahead of time because, as we know, these games don't exactly sell out.
Thus far, Bill Tortoriello, John Crowley, Pat Purcell, as well as myself are planning to attend!
This Thursday, August 5th Anthony Parisi '65, Ricky Torti "65 and myself are taking Uncle Hank Wagner to the Jersey Jackals game at Yogi Berra Stadium. Hank has been under the weather and is temporarily using a wheel chair to get around. Montclair State is somewhat closer to his Nutley home. He is a huge baseball fan. august 12th we are taking him to the Mets-Houston 12 noon game.
His daughters Donna and Linda graduated from SRL in the early 70's.
I just spoke to Billy Tottoriello on the phone and he confirmed that he will be there. Then he asked what if it rains?
We decided that we'll get together --- rain or shine!
So we'll meet at Dickie Dee's at 5:30 P.M.
If it is raining hard, we'll got to the Town Pub in Bloomfield at 6:30 instead of going to the game.
Summary: As of right now, you can either meet at Dickie Dee at 5:30 or the stadium main gate mail gate at 6:30.
IF IT RAINS? Still meet at Dickie Dee's at 5:30. If you are not able to make it there at 5:30 and it is raining, then just meet us at the Town Pub at 6:30. ---- Thanks -------------- Dennis M.
Well, it was raining as we got to the game so we had a good time drinking beer at the pub. Dennis, I had agita all night from those peppers in the nachos! (Billy, you're too skinny to be drinking lite beer. Stick with the Yuenglin's.)
Tony Parisi '65 and Ricky Torti '65 and I took Uncle Hank Wagner and Julio Torti to the Jackals game. It did not rain in Montclair.
We sat next to them in the wheelchair section. Yogi Berra Stadium is very nice, but lacked the ambiance of downtown Newark. Only Newark people would understand.
Anthony is having a reunion in Toms River one day this week with Jack Murphy '65 and Dennis Barbiere '65.
