Speaking of the movies.......

A friend gave me a cup and saucer that her grandmother had gotten from attending the local movie theater; it's part of an entire set. I cannot seem to find any information about the set including it's value. Does anyone have an idea of where to find info on these cup, saucers, plates, dishes that were given out at the movie theaters? This particular one is of Mickey Mouse as Steamboat Willie but the reverse side has a logo of the typical Mickey, not Steamboat Willie. There is also the manufactures name but I still cannot find info about it. I'm not sure but I think it was acquired in the late 40s or early 50s even though she said that father used it when he was a boy back in the 30s. I need more info on that point. The friend INSISTED on giving it to me and is going to give me a sugar and creamer set to match.

My friend's husband has tried to find info on it to no avail. So, do we have any Mickey Mouse fans who collect everything and anything Disney who might be able to steer me in the right direction? Sorry, the pieces are not for sale from me because if there is any value on them my friend will be getting them back.

I'm more of a Looney Tunes fan, Daffy Duck in particular. ;-]

Movie premiums

I'm no expert on these things, but I seem to recall that these dish set premiums were used to get people into theaters during the depression, which would make the date of the '30s correct.
