For more than 50 years the best Italian hot dogs in Essex County have come from Dickie Dee's on Bloomfield Avenue, Newark. The pizza, likewise, is first class. I am lucky enough to live a couple blocks from this modest pup palace, so I am a frequent customer. The walls are decorated with articles written about it, including one with a photo of Frankie Valli enjoying a combo. The place is small, loud and fragrant. If you haven't been there in a while, grab your Zantac and head on over.
