Hello everyone. What caused the destruction of all of the stores on Orange Street west of Roseville Ave say from Myrtle Ave down? And when did all of that take place?

I think that the destruction of all of the stores from first to about sixth street was caused by the new Rte 280 hwy cutting through that area. Am I correct about that?

The stores west of Gray Street were removed in the late 80's as part of Urban Renewal. They built two family houses in their place. If you been there lately most of the houses were built with nice open porches on the front. Now most of the houses have cages built around the porches so no one can come up on to the porch they look terrible.
