Some events of our past come to mind each year on their anniversary. One such which is Christmas Eve 1968, the night Carl Hopp was shot. A great pharmacist. I rank him up there with Hubert Humprhey, James Garner in" Murphy's Romance", Mr. Gauer in "It's a Wonderful Life" and Elvis' dad Dean Jagger as Mr. Fisher in "King Creole".
Tonight at 8:15 pm, as I do every Christmas Eve, I will drink a toast to Carl Hopp. We will be at a party hosted by by Joanne Lardiere of 2nd Street and with Joanne Rocco Hand of Second Street and Charlie Hand of Central Avenue among the guests.
"This one's for you, Mr. Hopp, wherever you are!"
