"The drum line from 1967(?). This was when I was the drum instructor in 66-67. The pictures were snapped by Ron Da Silva, and the location is by Lincoln Park near Pennsylvania Ave. It might have been a St. Patty's parade. You identify the players. Other than Joan Rubino, I don't recall their names."
Thanks, Bob.

UGH!!!!! Its hard to believe that I was ever that young What a shocker. But... the other girls faces are familar but I can't put a name to them, Give me time, this tired old brain will start functioning. Thanks for the photos, (again) Bob. I lost them. Now I can show my sons and prove that I was young.
The shakos and chin straps make this difficult, not to mention the intervening 38 years. But I'll give it a go.
The man standing at the end of the line wearing glasses and an overseas cap is Angelo Santambrogio, quartermaster to the Lancers.
The girl at the far end looks like she might be Margaret Cullinane. Next to her is Gail Mack, then Sharon McCormack, I think. I don't know the next girl. And as Bob O'Connor said, the girl closest to the camera is our own Joan Lynn. Beyond her can be seen the hulking figure of a man, who looks like it could be Bob Davis Sr.
Judging by the wind blowing in the girls' plumes, and the winter attire on the spectators, I'd say St. Patrick's Day is a good bet.
Also, in the background is a sign with the letters ZIP and what looks like a picture of a truck. Could be the postal service promoting the ZIP code program, which was fairly new at the time. If we can find out when ZIP codes came out, it would help put a year on this photo. Any of you postal people know?
That is Angelo, a truly dedicated quartermaster for the corps. And, you are correct about McCormack, as her name now comes to mind. I thought her first name is Colleen, although I could be wrong about that. The hulking figure is me. I'll check to see if there is a year on the photos.
Marty,
Since you asked;....Mr ZIP was first introduced June 1962. By July 1963, a 5 digit code had been established for every address in America. In 1967 the 'Department' required major mailers of 2nd & 3rd class bulk rate to presort by ZIP CODE. ZIP plus 4 was introduced in 1983....but I'll hold that thought for another time.
Your right Marty, that is Angelo, or Mr. Santambrogio as I knew him. He lived on No.7th Street about four houses up from Orange Street. His daughter Anne Marie was a member of the Roseville First Aid Squad and a Lancer's groupie. Her husband Joe Martin was also a member of the Quartermaster section.
