While we're on the subject of Branch Brook Park, have a look at this old postcard, courtesy of oldnewark.com, submitted by Richard Olohan. That reservoir on the right had a leakage problem and was eventually drained; later it would play host to the skating rink. And in the foreground is the westbound track of the DL&W railroad, before this section was re-laid below grade. An interesting perspective.
