If I had a choice of where this pic is... I'd say the bridge over Park Avenue...(but it's narrow)....but then it could be Belleville Ave...it looks more north...almost where all the goldfish-carp where..........just by or past the "white lady" tree....could it be the bridal path's bridge south of park ave....????
I know exactly where it is. Just past suicide hill (the
ballfields on the right and Nanina's & the road to Clara
Maas on the left). I came down the hill on the left on
Stephen Ponzini's bike and ended up in the water. Just a
hop, skip and a jump to the hospital!
The cherry blossoms should be in bloom now. Is it true
that Branch Brooks display is larger/better than the one
in Washington,DC. Their a good reason to visit Newark!
The picture is of the blossom display just before Mill Street and under one of two overhead walkways. The viaduct is a giveaway if anyone's ever walked along it; it's in the Belleville section of the park.
I lived only a 100 yards away on Tiffany Blvd that is North and you are correct about the location. When the blossoms were in bloom 7 or 8 trucks would be out selling dogs, ice cream, plastic toys.... parking was impossible on Tiffany and I could of made a killing if I charged; not to stereo type but the japs would wear 3 or 4 cameras on their neck. Had some great memories during the "season"
