Uhhhh... No??? I am off during the summer, and Craig and I take every opportunity to drive down the shore (the real one - in NJ - as opposed to the yucky, dirty, buggy sand of the Connecticut beaches). Sometimes we get up at 5 and just GO. If we can't afford to stay over or can't find a room we just come back that same day. It's 5 1/2 - 6 hours driving round trip, but it's worth it! Now, I'm back at work. Last week we welcomed the Class of 2010 to the Wesleyan campus. I love my job, but it's not the beach!
Maybe its just me, but I'll take fresh air and sunshine over the gloom and darkness of winter, anytime. I'd rather the sand on the beach, than the salt and snow. Remind me how great winter is in a few months when we're digging our cars out.
Anybody else?
We live just north of Austin Tx We get very few days of cool weather. Last time we seen snow was around 1995
I remember some of big snow falls Newark had . For me its nice to look at on TV,,,,,
But cooler weather is nice too..... For football
I've never been a fan of sleet and icy roads, but you can't beat a nice fluffy snowfall and a good pair of x-country skis. Having spent 30 years in Mass., there is nothing like a New England Autumn. The best time of the year to go camping in Maine is October----no bugs and no May flies. Vermont and New Hampshire are equally as lovely, especially if you like apple picking and hot apple-cider donuts. Oh, and Salem, Mass. on Halloween is a blast.
Sometimes it seems like Frank and I are the only ones who never left Essex County. Sorry John, I can't say I don't like Summer. I really like open windows and longer days, and going "down the shore". But I do like Spring and Fall best.
Ahhhh Marty.....you have to be ready for snow. I bought my wife a snow blower for Christmas. Electric start, don't want her to wear herself out with a pull-start.
Marty and Frank you guys have traffic detail from Orange & Broad all the way to Raymond & Cedar and don't forget to get some fruits from _______ the fruit cart on the corner hahahaha!!! (name purposely left out)
I found out he grew up with one of my former partners in the Morris Park section of 'da Bronx. Apparently he was the guest speaker at a law enforcement function I attended at O'Hara's Irish Pub some time ago. Meaning...I do not remember. I'm told he's a numbers guy,a cops-cop with a great background. He will make a significant difference. And no....I am not coming back to be the P.A.L. Director.
