I don’t recall its location, but I do remember that they had a real big sign.
I still can picture it today. For me that was 1958, I’m thinking it was on
Market street, but I’m not sure
Bond Clothing did indeed have a large sign. It was located on the southwest corner of Broad and Raymond Bulevard. My father got his suits there. If I remember you got two sets of trousers with each suit for the price of one.
Bonds was one-stop shopping for us “Greasers”. Italian Knits, High Rolls, and Featherweights with silk socks. Leather jacket not optional. Standard equipment was maroon pants with a pink high roll. Italian knits, forty-five dollars. Loosing your virginity, priceless.
My brother used to shop at Bond's for their suits with two pair of pants. However, my sharp husband Don shopped at the America Shopppes at Broad and Market St. with the palm trees out front. Off season some of the salesmen were pro baseball players. That was before the players were paid millions of dollars a year.
Bob, you don't know everything about Don; you have only know him for short time. When I first met him he wore polyester leisure suits and foral shirts. VERY SHARP!!
As far as the eye can see, when the "Bris" was prepetuated on our esteamed Rev. Crowley there was a rendition of something about the nulification being incumbered on a "once upon a time at moy bing and pigtail alley not being "Kosher"
Now theres a christmas picture showing the Rev. with 2 missing fingers now I don't know it thats some kind of sign or affinity to the finer things in life or did his fingers get in the way of his "bris" but whatever the mistification may be, Bob D. I think in my humbel shepardspie opinion the resident "Rabbi" is duly quantified as being the sharpest knife in the drawer ;^)
Rico, You're beautiful, I love ya! But whatever it is you are doing; pills, reefer, crack, H or cognac, give it up brother and come back to us. The undercover work you are doing is getting too deep!
