Bob and Richard Petty's mom passed away on Tuesday this week. Arrangements are at Zarro's on Harrison Street in Bloomfield. I am not aware of the details.
Mrs. Florence Petty, 82, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at The Zarro Funeral Home, 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield, and funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belleville. Born to the late Florence (Russell) and Bernard OBrien in New York City, Mrs. Petty lived in Newark for the past 50 years. She worked as a telemarketer for 10 years at Bambergers in Newark before her retirement. Mrs. Petty is survived by her sons, Robert Petty and his wife, Edith, and Richard Petty and his wife, Deborah; sisters, Mary Sauickie, Ann McDonnell and Frances Carr; a brother, Owen OBrien; grandchildren, Tracy Garcia and her husband, Walter, Kimberly Cantalupo and her husband, Genaro, and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Madison and Toni Lynn. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Petty; a daughter, Susan Petty, and brothers, Bernard, James, John and Patrick OBrien.
