On this day in 1929 our old man was born in St. Michael's in Newark. He grew up on N. 6th Street, served in WWII, met our Mom in Atlantic City, had three kids, drove a truck, coached kids in baseball, played hockey in his 50s, dedicated a room in his house to Budweiser and had a lot of friends. We still miss him and honor him today. We'll have a Bud for you today, Pop.

Happy Birthday Mr. C

I love this picture. We have the same nose.

Ice time was always at a premium. Pop's would have us
on Lake Hopacong, as long as Jimbo didn't fall through the
ice. Somewhere in Rahway off the turnpike where you see
those big tankers. They dismantled a tanker and it left a
nice round shallow pond for us to play on. He would find some pickup games in Cranford in a park that flooded its field. For a special treat he would rent out South Mountain Arena at 3 AM. It was great! We didn't have to spray paint
the lines.

Mr C started it all for me. He asked me if I wanted to play
in a pick up game (I was 12?). He said "Hey you can skate'!
From then on we playing as often as we could. I went on to
stardom from there. Thank you for the Fun, College education
and friendship. It all started there, in Newark.

Happy Birthday Pops! I will have a BUD (I'll be sick in
the morning though).

John ? You took this picture, right?
What was pop saying to John when this picture was taken?
I can come up with twenty guesses.
