I would like to thank you for a wonderful trip down memory lane. What a treat to see all the old photo's, many of which I remember well. The Flower Basket where we purchased the flowers for our wedding. St. Rose where we were married by Father Carney. One thing I couldn't find in the photo's was a picture of "The Roseville Bakery" where we ordered our wedding cake. That was the best cake I ever had; it had ice cream between the layers. I know that doesn't seem so great now because of all the ice cream cakes we can buy in the market, but back in 1953 that was really something!
I moved away from Newark in 1959 and lived in California for 42 years. We moved to Henderson, Nevada six years ago and love it here. But, no matter how far away we are there will only be one Newark, where we were born and raised.
I too moved from Newark in 1958. For me it was the
US Army, the better part of 25 year, Boy did we get around.
Yes this site is great and I try to say so every opportunity I
get What a pleasure it is to see the old pictures of the only Newark I can remember they have my thanks for that
