My son John graduated from Rutgers as a history major, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in June 2006. He also was ROTC cadet lieutenant colonel & battalion commander and George C. Marshall scholar. He graduated from his Transportation Officer Basic School in Fort Eustis, Virginia number one in his class in both leadership and academic areas. He is a second lieutenant in the 253rd Transportation Company, NJ National Guard and will be a first year law student at Rutgers' Camden law school next month. His wife, Carol Mendez, is a Rutgers graduate who is entering her third year of medical school at NJ College of Medicine and Dentistry. She started in New Brunswick and will be at Cooper Hospital in Camden for the next two years and then will intern either in Freehold or NYC.
