Sad News

Janet Maguire mother of Patty passed away on Friday. Viewing is only Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Quinn Hopping in Livingston. We just came back from vacation and heard, please check the local papers for more information.

MC GUIRE Janet A. McGuire Retired office manager, 79 Janet A. McGuire (nee Verze), 79, of Newark died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, in the Waterview Nursing Home in Cedar Grove. Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 9 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthonys Church, Belleville. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. A lifelong resident of Newark, Janet was a graduate of Arts High. She retired as office manager from the office of Dr. Kathy Bissell in Nutley. She was a former Democratic district Leader in Newark and a member of the Rosary Society of St. Anthonys Church in Belleville. She was predeceased by her parents, Antonetta (nee Lombardi) and Fiore Verze, and her husband, John H. McGuire. She is survived by her loving daughters, Patti McGuire Fredericka and her husband, Gary, of Montclair, Maureen McGuire of Montclair, and Janet McGuire of Robbinsville; her dear sisters, Mary Mondato of Cedar Grove and Viola Barbarossa of Palm Desert, Calif.; her cherished grandchildren, John and Amber Fredericka and step-grandchildren, Megan and Eirinn Jones, and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Wake

My wife Jeanne attended the wake this evening. Mr. and Mrs.McGuire attended our wedding.in 1970. Mr. McGuire played the bagpipes at our mother's burial in 1997.
