| Our own Benny Abruzzo of 2nd Street is depicted in the movie American Gangster as himself.. His character is a Newark narcotics detective who is a "real bulldog and likes black women". How accurate indeed. A front page story in Saturday's Star ledger suggested that he and two fellopw detectives failed to get the credit they deserved and the movie it all went to the character played by Russell Crowe. More on this later.
