Anyone Else Collecting Newark?

I routinely query “Newark NJ”, to see what Ebay has to offer. Almost too rich in history, and to just collect “Ballantine” would make for quite a hobby. Branch Brook park may be the worst, and if just for the postcards. In-between lies everything from Vaudeville posters, to milk bottles, and so glad that I grew up here. Is anyone else collecting Newark?

It's on e-bay--Guess how much

December 4 2008, 3:01 PM

Years ago I posted a message saying that I would love to find a Public Service bus stop sign (the black and white circle with the bus coming at you and the people getting on).

Here it is on e-bay. Guess how much?

http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTHENTIC-N-J-BUS-STATION-SIGN-1930S_W0QQitemZ130270053441QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item130270053441&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A2%7C294%3A50

I'll trade it for some Ballantine church keys

If this is worth $2,500 I'm Arnold Palmer. I offered him $50.

JC,
You believe that? $2,500 for one of those Public Service signs?
A few years ago I saw one still standing in Livington or Roseland or some suburb like that. Anybody have a piple cutter?

Before you get to visit the cop shop for stealing any remaining Public Service signs, check out the antique car flea markets. The one-sided repros are real nice and were selling for about $18.00 each when I bought one a few years ago.
