Wow, what a hoot this website is!!! I just found out about it through Ellen McAteer and am stunned at how many of you have stayed in touch. How nice that is!!! Patty Culligan - thanks for the Little Sisters flash back!!! Was that not a crazy time for us? When I tell my daughter all the stuff we did there she can't believe it.
Oh well, I better get back to work. Look forward to hearing from you all.
Hey Mary,
Nice to hear from you. I saw on you post to Patti Culligan that you are still here in Jersey. Many of us from the Class of 68 who we have reunited with try to get together whenever we can, and we'd all love to see you. We'll keep you posted.
Must be my brother, Freddie you're talking about - oh boy, that's scary - he was trouble. I know Sr. Regina Patricia hated him. I think they may have been his last year at St. Rose. My mother but him in public school for 7th and 8th if I remember correctly. What's your last name? I'll tell my brother you were asking about him.

Hi Mary,
My sister Betty was probably friends with your oldest sister since Betty would have been 64 this past September. I remember that I didn't know that she was your sister so when Betty took me to visit your sister over at your house on 7th ave, it was a surprise to see YOU there !
I can't believe we were only ten. That was when we were in fifth grade and Betty got married right after that and moved to Glen Ridge so we lost touch with the people who hung out at "Pete's". But I've seen some postings about that crowd-- Spinach, Pig, Fuzzy, etc. Didn't anybody have real names?
Try to make it to a First Friday-- we've found a lot of our class of '68. In fact, Bobby Davis just got in touch with Mike Zayac and Bobby Johnson this past year. We've found about 20 others from the great class of '68 too!
I think I remember the name Betty Jones - I'll have to tell my sister. When did you sister die? Yea, that is something about the names isn't it - I don't remember it being like that for our age - but my oldest brother and sister - when they talk about friends - they mention all these weird names - it's really funny!!! I definitely want to get together with you guys. I wrote to Patty Culligan and was telling her that I'm not sure when I would be able to thought since I'm schedule to have knee replacement surgery on 3/10. I had a meniscus tear repaired in September of last year and the doctor discovered a lot of arthritis - we tried a few other things but I'm still limping around in pain so I have to do the knee replacement surgery. I'm actually looking forward to it so I can get on with my life - it was a difficult last six months of 2008 for me. Anyway, enough gloom and doom - I'll keep checking the website to see when/where you guys are getting together. If there's a get together before 3/10 I may be able to limp (ha! ha!) to that!!! If not, definitely come the spring!!!
Hi Mary,
What are your sisters' names? Betty died suddenly on the fourth of July 2005--Massive heart attack at age 59.
Sorry to hear about your knee, but don't let that stop you from coming to First Friday. There's a lot of "limping" at these gatherings, LOL. In fact, sometimes people walk in just fine but limp out--Can't understand it.
Sorry about your sister - that must have been very difficult for you to lose her so suddenly. My sisters' names are Nancy and Rose (I think they called her Rose back then). Her names is Rosemarie - family always called her Sissy - she would die if she knew on posted that on a website!!! I pretty sure it was Rose that was friends with your sister. I'll tell her about Betty when I see her this weekend. I sent a post to Bob Davis asking him about the February 1st Friday - I think I'll be able to make it. I've never been to Cryan's - is it on 1st St. in South Orange?
I would like to go on 2/6. Let me know if you guys collect money ahead of time or what. I have GPS in my car so I should be ok getting there. Is there parking on-site?
Mary, We all chip in at the end of the night for the tab. The GPS is great but there are certain areas you want to avoid. E-mail your address to me and I'll send you directions. There is plenty of parking also. BD
We don't go to First Fridays enough. When we do get there we always have a great time. It feels good to be around people who can relate. Alas, something always seems to get in the way. (I should ditch the kids and quit the job!!!!!!!)
Hi,Mary, I lived at 491 7th ave till 1960. Graduated St Rose in 1959. I think my sister Pat Boland was friends with your sister Rosemarie. The name is so familiar.
