This camp was located in Tobyhanna PA. Mary Jane
McNally and I went there for a number of years in the early 60's. My mother was working full time and did not want me to be "unsupervised" all summer. It was run by the Diocese of Scranton. I think it was closed in the 70's and the property sold. After doing some research on the net, I found out that it is now Camp Olmpic run by people in Brooklyn.
thanks Maureen..it's funny as i feel i went there and everyone
tells me i'm nuts.. but why would that stick in my head like that??
Very little memory of childhood happenings and i guess
this might be just a piece of the puzzle..thanks
And the other three need a good BEAT DOWN...but you are
still CUTE... lol
Kathy, I was friends with your sister Mary Ruth. I still remember climbing the back stairs to get up to your apartment. Hope all is well with everyone. Maybe that's how you heard it.
There's my maiden name. Haven't talked to Mary Ruth since 8th grade. In fact, my mother Kitty was friends with your mother. Do the names Carol McRoberts, Rose and Johnny McRoberts ring a bell? They had an apartment near the Greeks deli. Also, Marianne Pepe on North 7th St. Ask Mary Ruth--these names should ring a bell with her. I live in Warminster PA, outside Philly, semi-retired and a grandmother! How time flies!
Of course i remember you now..and also carol and her family..
my sister is doing well and lives in mays landing in south jersey,
we are still in touch with marianne (pepe) murray who still lives in newark.
Mary Ruth has one grandson, and i have 3 grandchildren..2 boys and 1 girl..
i still live in Budd Lake which is the same house that my mother moved us to
after the riots and after my father died..I have been retired now for 1 1/2 yrs. after driving a school bus for 29yrs.. i guess since i didn't ride one in newark once i moved up here i thought they were pretty cool..lol..so that's what i've been up too...
