Another great old photo from Branch Brook Park, this one looking toward the old reservoir, home of the ice-skating rink, and the cathedral beyond. Not sure, but I think Skip sent this one in a while back.

(Had this photo been taken on a different day, you would see me sprawled on the ground beside my scooter, having taken the death-defying trip down the hill and crashed-landed at the bottom, ripping a nice gash above my eye. I was eleven, I believe. They stitched me up at Presbyterian.)

Johnny, I walked that path many a day on my way to the rink with my old gang. It brings a happy tear to my eyes.....

Johnny, I spent many a day and quite a few nights being stitched up at that hospital. I remember the nurse who was in charge of the emergency room giving anybody who came in for stitches a bucket and a surgical towel, followed up by the classic statement "and don't bleed on the floor".

In the health care industry, the nurse in charge of a unit is now known as the "Charge Nurse". I'm sure the change was made because of cops back in the 1970's showing up in the ER and asking for the "Head Nurse". You get it.
