Orange Street little resembles the Orange Street of 1959, when we moved back to Fourth Street. However, it very closely resembles the Orange Street of, say 1979. It died many years ago. We are lucky to have First Fridays The Dutchman wants me to drive him May 1st. That should be interesting. Mrs. Parisi also wants to attend and hoppefully Bernie you can get Michael
Torluccio there as well. We moved to Bloomfield in October of 1969 and it was none too soon. Please say a prayer for one of my brother-in-law's best friend's son. He was hit in the temple with a line drive last night, while pitching a baseball game and has a fractured skull. Brings back sad memoies of 1967 when Essex Catholic's Joe Dowd was killed with thrown ball that hit him in the temple in a game against St. Joseph's Metuchen. He had played for St. Rocco's against SRL the summer before and we got to know him well. Very sad.
Are you talking about Joe? His uncle and father&mother attended OLV- His brother Javier is also in baseball and are local in SoOrange.
Real shame and very frightening. I am praying for him.
How much room is in the school for this organization? I don't recall it being there the first re-union.
I just noticed the overall picture- there is a sconce missing and the other one doesn't look too good and
the air conditioning unit is filled with garbage...
There was an expose article in the StarLedger columnist Bob Braun about a slummy apartment run by Msgr Linder and the NCC- and I can see the school is going the same way so I guess it is a good thing that the next chapter will be a secular charter school.
