Went to Morris County Track Meet this morning to see young Robert Parisi take fifth in the county out of 30 competitors putting the 12 pounbd shot a commendable 34'7" with out his coach. Fortunately Tony has been hanging out this month with Brother Nick and knows more than most field coaches do. Took a walk down to the long jump and saw the winner vault 18'11". Guess what!As a freshman in 1966 Essex was short of long jumpers and sent Anthony down to the long jump event and he won the NJ Catholic Track Conference Freshman Championship jumping 19'7", without ever doing it in his life. 43 years later Tony can not be beaten. I bet he could still beat that kid today.
Frank, I think everyone likes to believe they could still do the things today that they did as a teenager. I on the other hand have no such illusions, besides I don't think that any of my doctor's would allow it!
You also won the 440 yard run and were hailed as THE ITALIAN JIM THORPE. in 1986 you beat my son Michael's friend Muhammed Bell (s0n of robert bell KOOL AND THE GANG) in a 100 yard dash. Sean goes to school with Thelonious MonK the third, grandson of the immortal jazz pianist. I bet you can take him too. You will then be the champion of the celebrity children.
Around 1990 there was a documentary made entitled "Young Anthony". I played myself. Others played Tony at various stages in his life. I hope you still have it and have someone put it on You Tube for the enjoyment of millions.
Tony...DON'T DO IT!!!!!! I want to see you at many many more Christmas parties.
Although we are all young at heart, the truth of the matter is we are not what we use to be.....But, at least we are still here to talk about it. God Bless....
Is that the same tape where John, Bob, Marty, Billy, Bobby and Tony are doing the "moonwalk" and theres another one with Bernie doing the "thriller" dance?
He was not in this one. Various family members played him as a child, teenager and young adult. It was a classic. Little bit like the Bob Dylan mocie. His mom played herself and I played myself. Several scenes were filmed at underhill field in Maplewood, N.J. 1990 or 1991.
The place will be packed...Mr. Excitement and Mr. Congeniality.,,,,,
Hope he finds that video YOUNG ANTHONY. Must get on YOU TUBE to share with the world.
