From Sheffield train station you can get the afternoon service (bound for York) which stops at Moorthorpe .If you chose this ,the train would arrive at around 2.10-2.15pm at Moorthorpe, and that leaves a 1 mile walk (15-20 minutes) up to the ground, im sure the locals will help you with directions.
Alternatively, get a train to Doncaster, and then get a train to South Elmsall (bound for leeds). The walk from the station is a little shorter at just under a mile. It will take you about 10 minutes. I think there are two trains an hour to South Elmsall from Doncaster.
You won't be able to get return ticket with the first option but with the second option, trains are a little more frequent.

From Sheffield there will be direct trains to Moorthorpe which head to Leeds. Easiest way is to head left out of station car park, keep walking till you hit Netto then go right up Carlton road, right at the end onto Westfield lane then left to the ground after Westfield Hotel.
To South Elmsall from Sheffield you can change at Wakefield Westgate or Doncaster, one train an hour from each. Head up station steps then left down the hill. Turn right at t-junction then first left up Westfield lane. Keep going up hill for 10 minutes past Westfield Hotel then left.
