I look at appointees and his record. Also, the pragmatism that is politics. If you mess with your backers, they won't be your backers anymore. Possibly, even a worse scenario. See: political assassinations in the USA.
The embassy will not be abandoned. No word on Gitmo or Abu Ghraib, extraordinary renditions or torture. A safe bet would be "no change" (see appointees).
Afghanistan is lost, it never was anything more than a regional military success. The poppies are back and heroin is being produced again. All Karzai ever was, was "The Mayor of Kabul".
Iraq will be balkanized. It won't be one warlord, but 3 or 4 regional chieftains. Ripe picking for their neighbors. The Kurds, Iranians and so on.
If you understand, things are as they are. If you do not understand, things are as they are.
