No one is talking about this....but what is up with this legislated conversion to....

digital T.V.?

Being as cynical as I am....i wonder....why this is happening? I mean...usually the market itself dictates such changes....meaning....if enough people stopped watching analog T.V....then a lack of advertising would demand the networks themselves cut out this type of signal.

But why is the govenrment doing this???

I know very very little about the technology...but it seems to me like it wouldn't be hard...if all T.V. was controlled via digital transmission....to not only track what any given person/people were watching....but also if needed have great control over it.

am i being too paranoid here?

any input why this is happeneing???
