Response to Agreed (if Roy has had a stroke).

Well said.
-- Clear, concise, to the point.
And...
-- Obviously well-intentioned...
Which, unfortunately...
Can be taken by some around here to be...
-- "insensitive" and "arrogant".

From personal experience...
-- A co-worker had a stroke at work a few years back...
I know that what you've said about motor control...
As well as verbal and written communication skills...
-- Is entirely too true.

In the case of my co-worker, the stroke was brought about...
When a large number of previously undetected blood clots...
-- Lodged themselves in his brain.

It severely affected his ability to speak...
His vocabulary had become totally confused...
And, spoken sentences were complete gibberish.

However...
He was still able to communicate through the written word.

With a pen and paper in his hands...
It became quite evident that he was fully capable of understanding...
What was being said to him and what was taking place around him...
His stroke-related communication problem was a scrambled connection...
Between the portion of the brain that contains vocabulary...
And the part that controls vocalization.

Again, thanks for your input on this topic.
