Response to No I am not trying to be polite Dave
Well, it seems you are saying that I cannot confront false teachings if I've sinned. Of course, everyone has sinned, so no one could ever confront false teachings. However, Scripture requires that false teachings be confronted so it must not be quite that simple.
Also, there's a huge difference between confronting and condemning. The Jews were condemning the adulterous woman by threatening to kill her, and they WOULD have killed her. That's condemnation! I'm not threatening to kill Roy, nor am I saying he's condemned or damned.
I don't deny that I've sinned, maybe more than Roy. But, far as I know, I'm teaching in accordance with Scripture and the ancient teachings of the Church. I don't understand some of those scriptures and teachings, but I don't deny what I don't understand - as many people do. I accept Scripture and the ancient teachings on faith, hoping to understand later.
And, as I said, scripture requires that false teachings be confronted. I will do so as politely as I can.
In faith, Dave
Wise men still seek him.
