And Yesterday we celebrated the beginning of that process of taking away the sins of the world.
Rough day yesterday!! Kids were all pulling on Santa's beard; trouble is, the beard is REAL, not fake, and pulling on it HURTS!!! They deny knowing it was me all the time .
And what a dinner! In bed by 2 AM; Alicia had to get up at 7 for work but. me, being retired, I got up at noon. However, I have supper going in the crock pot so she doesn't have to cook.
I read a news story about people who have "opted-out" of Christmas - because it is sooo commercialized, and people are so greedy, that the holiday is too hard on people and serves only the purposes of the corporations. They want to have a quiet holiday with the family, and home-made gifts, and fun.
There wasn't any mention of Christmas being a holyday (instead of a holiday) and that it celebrates the birth of Christ. I was thinking that it's wonderful they got half the story, about the harmful effects of secular christmas; but they missed the other half, the better half of the story, about Christmas and Christ. But they have come half-way - maybe someday they will come the rest of the way!!!
But YOU'VE come all the way, Jay, so "Happy Birthday" to ya'!! ¡¡¡Y Prospero Año Nuevo!!!
In faith, Dave
