Luke 9:34 They feared as they entered into the cloud.

As I read these words, I thought how often we fear as we enter into some cloud of the unknown. The unknown year - or perhaps only the unknown day, can make us fear. Shall we be led through it, always caused to triumph? Or shall we fail? Or the cloud may be the sorrow which all of us know so well, the grief (that fills the hour like a cloud) over some well-loved soul that has taken the wrong turn. “They feared as they entered into the cloud.”

But “there came a Voice out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son: hear Him”, and as we listen we hear. To each heart comes the word it needs most at that moment, and often the first word will be, “Fear thou not”, and with the words will come an assurance of His Presence, or a promise of His succour. “And when the Voice was past, Jesus was found alone.”

People that fear the unknown seem to have the weakest faith. Those that desperately cling to their faith of everyting they can discern for themselves actually limit the experience of the things they fear. And sad when people impose their views on others to fear the clouds and the unknowns.

Have faith in the truth, it always sets everyone free.

wait for stuff to happen.

The people who don't fear, prevent stuff from happening by acting appropriately.

One cannot fear what one does not know.

He appeared as a pillar of cloud in the O.T. and to me this is an intense presence of God...even though he is present all the time a cloud seems to symbolize more intensity because it is something you can feel when you enter it.
