Response to Tok Pisin native speakers needed

Magdalena,
a suggestion.

Don't use the word native. Englis i no tokples bilong ol. So a lot of the Peeps think you are being some colonial waitas by using the word "native". Like the sign yhat used to be on Ella Beach long taim bilong Masta; "NO DOGS OR NATIVES ALLOWED" Just because the guys and girls speak english, don't necessarily assume they are on the same wavelength as we Aussies. Not so much a clash of cultures, as a clash of expectations. Much like when we speak to a yank....Two nations divided by a common language.

Same as when I was in PNG, I asked: Gooma em i stap we?" Reply 'Em i dai Boss.' Immediately the thought rushed through my head - F--- Gooma's dead. What will I do now? Then the thought occured to me - Hang on, dead = dai pinis. He's just unconcious under a tree somewhere.happy.gif

use the word "customary" speakers of Tokpisin.

Stap isi poro......ralph.
