Well we just pulled back into town after a 10 hour drive from South Dakota (where our rooms were at). The Tommy Bolin Fest was great we set up on a big stage downtown. The streets were blocked off for a street party. Gave it kind of a City Of Roses Fest feel. Black Oak Arkansas was great as always.
The highlight of the weekend for me, was hanging around the Bolin Estate on Friday. The house was full of Tommy Bolin photos and Gold Deep Purple and James Gang cds on the walls. Tommy's brother Johnnie (Black Oak's drummer) Let me sleep in Tommy's room over night. I even got slept right in Tommy Bolin's round bed. His bed room (for the most part) is just like he left it before he died. It was like sleeping in Elvis' bed. I swear I dreamed that Tommy Bolin came up the stairs and was talking to me about my music, and my band. I woke up from the dream and could still feel the man's spirit in the room.
We made the local paper in the story about Tommy bolin and the fest.

It was great to be a part of this yearly festival. And it's always a blast to open for our good friends in Black Oak Arkansas.
While we were there we had a listen to the new Glenn Hughes cd Soul shaker. And it flat out rocked. Reminded me of Sass Jorden. Chad Smith for the Chili Peppers played drums on the cd. I'll be heading to Pmac to buy one tomorrow. Great CD!
Johnnie says two new live Tommy Bolin cds just came out, and a greatest hits will be out later this year.
Everyone in Sioux City was so great to us, we can't wait to come play for you again soon!
Well I'm off to bed, I'm very tired!! Rock on!- Timexx Nasty
