Video editing on Mac (a big project) - software?

Is buying Final Cut Express going to be my best bet for editing a full-length production with 2-3 camera sources?

I had a friend who was going to give me an installation of it, but he can't find it. I have basically two months for this project (since I haven't been able to start, yet). This is two-camera video of a stage production each with audio.

I have a secondary question, for those who might have an idea. I have experience editing, but I've never multiple video footage of the same action. I'm thinking that the best thing to do is rip an audio track from one of the videos and then plug and play my visual choices from camera 1 and camera 2 (to avoid blips in sound). Anyone have a better suggestion? I'm just assuming I can do this on Final Cut.
