Ok, I am about at my breaking point with both Firefox and Safari. I would have downloaded Chrome a long time ago, but I have a Mac and it's not available yet. Do any of you know what causes a browser to crash? I switch between each of them when I get frustrated the other, but Firefox and Safari both crash multiple times a day. I have the most up to date versions of both. Any ideas why this is happening?

If you have all of the browser updates done, and it's still happening to both browsers it's likely nefarious programs that are running in the background causing problems. (Yes, even on a Mac).

Run two or three spyware/ad-removal programs (no one program catches everything,) and you should be all set.

If you are running anything earlier than 10.6, it could be one of your internet plugins, that needs updating, or, it could also be a java issue

My recommendations (and I have seen this from time to time with customers), first, try checking for software updates. If there is a security update, a java update, or an OS updated, do that.

Next try clearing the private data in firefox, or resetting safari (under safari menu)
