I think he will be a decent signing but he isn't really being bought to score goals. Anyway goals don't always prove things one way or the other, we had this fella last year called Tevez, played 50 odd games and got 5 league goals in the team that won the title, how shite is that? And now I hear that some nutters are gonna pay £25 mill for him
To be serious I wouldn't have thought it was that easy to be prolific at Wigan, but what I have seen of the lad I quite like, I reckon this Ferguson fella might have a future as a manager as well so I'll back his judgement on this one.
As for goals, Rooney might actually get to play up front this year and Berbatov will hopefully come on a lot for his debut season, Macheda looks a very promising youngster but I would like to see someone come in before the deadline, thats if Madrid will kindly fuck off and stop buying anything that moves.
At the end of the day you cannot replace Ronaldo, its impossible, the guy was phenominal, a bit of a cunt but an incredible athlete and we're lucky to have got six years and 68 million profit out of him.
The old beast might be a bit wounded but I wouldn't write us off just yet fella, makes for an interesting season anyway |

Ha ha ha you've got to be fucking joking right? Fucking hell mate if anyone else turns you down even I'll be getting embarrassed for you, what your new money is actually showing you is that its hard as fuck to get european stars to come and live here, if Manchester was Madrid you'd have Kaka and Eto signed up. We've seen this for years hence why everyone was so elated when Veron signed, even though he turned out to be shite he was the first real in demand foreign star to agree to come
I've never been under any illusion that every player wants to play for United, maybe a lot of the british ones do but we can't compete with Madrid and Barca and before they went shite Milan, simply because of their glamorous and warm locations.
I would imagine the ugly one will get more than 5 goals next year, but Valencia will probably get more than 3 now he is playing for us |

to see some sensible posts on here, whether I agree with the opinions or not. Been a bit of a lad myself but it gets tiresome reading time after time about who did who in 1926 outside the parrot and colostomy pub in town. Valencia?, who knows. It's too early to say. I just know it's mad when 15 million is the going rate for a player who cannot be considered top draw yet. Tevez is different. In the past he's been class for Argetina aqgainst top opposition and in today's inflated market is definately worth 25 mill. Bring him on! Eto'o wants half the transfer fee as well as the best wages in the world. He can get to fuck. |

Ahem, one Dimatar Berbatov turned you down as well (though you may well say thank fuck for that!)
And lets face it, Eto doesn't want to come, eventually he may be pushed out the door and as it appears no one else is in for him and even if they were you would financially blow them away then he might end up at your place.
Don't know whether Benzema turned us down or not, not sure we were ever in for him, Im under no illusion where he would have chosen though, I cannot ever remember a foreign player choosing us over one of the big European teams
The fact remains that money or not its difficult to get top stars to this city, I can remember as far back as Platini in 82 and United being linked with him, but he fucked us off as well to go juve and we were still chasing the cunt in 86 when he was hanging up his boots, similarly we only got blanc when he was well past it.
I think we're always in with a chance with North Europeans, your germans, scandanavians, Dutch etc but they're producing no one worth having these days, your latins don't really want to come here.
You're confusing me with some student type from fuck knows where if you think I will be arsed about who we do or don't sign, if they dont want to play for us let them fuck off to madrid, city or anywhere else, I aint arsed.
Should be an interesting season, I'll be around to give a sensible red perspective on and off the field as long as the board stays half sensible. |
