Several years ago, I was out cross country skiing at a small resort close to a residental area when a yellow lab tried to adopt me. She followed me all day even though I tried to leave her behind. She had a collar but no tag and looked well cared for so I knew she belonged to someone. She even waited for me outside the pro shop where I did some shopping and then jumped into the back of my SUV as I was loading my skiis. I was so TEMPTED to take her home with me but I know she belonged to someone nearby. Her owner doesn't know how close I came to taking her home with me. I still think about adopting a yellow lab if another one needs me and chooses me.
